WILL WE DANCE TO MUSIC IN SESSION?

If you'd like! Sometimes music can help our bodies move. Other times, moving in silence can be what our mind and body needs, too!


HOW EFFECTIVE IS DANCE/MOVEMENT THERAPY?

Mind-Body connection is the foundation of this modality which is a qualitative and experiential process. Dance/movement therapy can range from stillness to choreographed movement, used as a lens to offer perspective of be fully integrated into the therapy session.


WHEN DO YOU USE MOVEMENT IN SESSION?

As a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist, I use movement in session when:

  • Words just aren't enough to express what you're feeling.
  • Connecting your mind to your body feels hard
  • It's just easier to move than talk
