Neurodivergent Affirming Care

Neurodivergent Affirming Care

Neurodiversity celebrates the many differences in which each individual's brain can process information, learn and inform behavior. With patience and acceptance, I invite you to share and embrace your uniqueness. This creates an individualized environment to learn and practice tools that will help manage daily stressors and promote generalized skills across environments.

Indicators of Neurodivergence can include:

  • Learning & processing difficulties (understanding, remembering and using new information)
  • Hyper fixation on preferred interests - can impact socialization and daily living responsibilities
  • Difficulty identifying, processing and coping with emotions
  • Easily distracted by background noise, crowded spaces, textures of material, lights or other sensory experiences
  • Hyper (high) or Hypo (low) physical activity

Neurodivergent diagnoses include (not limited to): Autism, ADHD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD).

You may be noticing characteristics in your child, or learning more about yourself, leading you to consider your own Neurodivergence.
